Resident Event Ideas for Apartment Communities

When you live in an apartment you’re going to be surrounded by other people, that’s simply a factor of apartment living. Yet, despite the close proximity of people, it is often the case that neighbors don’t get to know each other.

That’s why you need to have resident events, these give everyone the chance to meet, get to know each other, and bond.

Of course, you need event ideas that everyone will come to.

A Wedding

If you have a large community space then you can host your wedding, or throw it open to other weddings in the area. Not only will you have the chance to mingle with lots of new people, but you can also generate a little money for the building that could cover a social trip or a Christmas party.

Of course, the key to making any venue perfect for a wedding is in choosing the right wedding decor. In fact, the same company can provide all the décor you need for any event you hold, making it one of the best choices you’ll ever make.

If you throw the venue open to others as a wedding venue you’ll need to organize a team of residents to look after the space. Ideally, everyone should get involved on a rota basis, making it a real community affair.

Game Nights

You can set up bingo nights, casino nights, or other themes that will allow residents and other members of the community to come and spend time together. It should all be fun activities that allow you to bond with each other and should be easy to organize.

Cook-Offs

Another great idea is to organize a meal for everyone. But, instead of one person cooking everyone who comes should make a dish. This will allow people to share the responsibility and share the enjoyment of eating, while bonding. That is, after all, the purpose of a resident event.

Pool Parties

If your building has a pool then the pool party s a great way to have a bit of fun and get everyone involved. It will also encourage residents to use the pool. If you haven’t got a pool then use the local one. Just because you’re trying to bond your residents together doesn’t mean that it has to be in the building!

Sports Fun

Extend the gauntlet and challenge a neighboring building to a sports tournament. You’ll need to specify which sports are going to be undertaken and give everyone enough time to get teams together.

Add in a barbeque and some ice-cold drinks and you’ll have an all-day event that won’t just create a bond between residents in your apartment block. You’ll also bond with other people in the neighborhood.

Story Time

You can also organize book readings, especially if you have a lot of children in your area. Parents will appreciate the brief reprise and the children will love it! Different residents can take it in turn to read.

Just remember to pick stories that are age-appropriate.
